As the preservation and promotion of the Tibetan culture is a priority for the Tibetan Association of Alberta, the Gangchen Rigney Zinkyong Tibetan school was established.
This school is run by committed members of our Association who provide instruction in the following areas:
- Language classes (Tibetan reading and writing)
- Traditional Tibetan Folk Song and Dance
- Musical instruments:
- Dranyen (Tibetan lute)
- Flute
- Piwang
- Yangjin
Classes are held on Saturdays from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
The goal of the Tibetan school is to instill in our young Tibetans a strong sense of their Tibetan roots and identity.
Prayer services are also conducted in conjunction with the language and culture classes on Saturdays.
